Oregon Tech Shutout in CCC Opener

KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest U. scored twice in the first half and once in the second as the Eagles defeated Oregon Tech, 3-0, in the Cascade Conference Opener for both teams.
Jonathan Ellis got NU on the scoreboard at the 7:09 mark as he got his right foot on a pass from Ryan Gamache from 7 yards out. Taylor Young made it 2-0 with his unassisted goal in the 17th minute as he put one past Tech’s goalkeeper from 12 yards out in the middle of the field.
Ryan Gamache added the lone goal in the second half with a header from 7 yards out.
Northwest U. (3-1-1, 1-0 CCC) outshot the Owls 25-10 with Loren Jessen coming up with 6 saves in goal for Oregon Tech (0-4-1, 0-1 CCC). OIT was held without a shot on goal as Joe Galbraith and Jonny Wong combined for the shutout.
Oregon Tech will try to get their first win of the year when they travel to Olympia to face The Evergreen State College in CCC action beginning at 1PM tomorrow.
