(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) -- Head coach Matt Miles announced the signing of David Crofton, a senior pitcher and corner infielder from North Medford High School. The right hander had a 0.29 conference ERA as a junior while averaging a strikeout per inning while leading the Black Tornado to a conference title. His performance earned him 1st team All-Conference and Honorable Mention All-State honors.
“David has the ability to contribute right away on the mound and at the plate. He projects very well at the collegiate level,” stated Coach Miles. “He has a big frame that will add velocity and he has been a middle of the order type hitter throughout his high school career.”
Crofton hit .361 as a junior while leading his team in RBI. He was also a valuable member of the Medford Mustangs state champion American Legion program. David was a three sport athlete before a knee injury led him to concentrate on baseball. He is coming out of a powerhouse baseball high school program built by outstanding head coach, Brett Wolfe. David is poised to lead his team at a run at the 6A state championship. “David is another key signing of a southern Oregon top recruit and helping make the future an exciting time for Oregon Tech baseball.
David is the son of Don and Stephanie Crofton and plans on majoring in Geomatics at Oregon Tech. Playing so close to home will afford Crofton’s grandpa, David Crofton, the opportunity to see his grandson compete at the collegiate level.
