ASHLAND, Ore. - No. 2 Oregon Tech hit just 35% of their attempts from the field, as rival Southern Oregon University snapped Tech’s six game win streak over the Raiders defeating the Hustlin’ Owls 76-60 tonight at Bob Reihm Arena in non-conference men’s basketball action tonight in Ashland.

Oregon Tech falls to 6-2 overall, while No. 23 Southern Oregon University improved to 5-2 with the win.
Oregon Tech took an early 4-3 lead, keeping it tied at 9-9 on an Austen Flint 3-pointer with 16:40 to play in the first period, but it was all Raiders from that point.
Tech would manage to keep the game within three points, 25-22, with 7:22 in the half but SOU would pull away to take a comfortable 14 point advantage, 39-25, into the intermission.
Starting period 2 Southern Oregon would not only keep their momentum, but eventually lead by as many as 20 points in the second period on the way to a 76-60 win over the Owls.
Josh Johnson led Oregon Tech with a game-high 20 points to go with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Josh Wiseman chipped in 17 points and grabbed 5 rebounds with Austen Flint and Brandon Bautista adding 5 points each.
Eric Thompson notched a double-double for the Raiders with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Kyle Tedder recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds with David Sturner adding 12 points and 8 rebounds.
Oregon Tech next travels back to Ashland for the Flagship Inn Classic as the Owls take on NAIA DI Lewis-Clark State College on Friday followed by New Hope Christian this Saturday. Both games will tip at 5:30 PM.
