La Grande, Ore — Eastern Oregon scored the first 13 points of the second half to build up a big lead and held off Oregon Tech to complete a historic season sweep of the Hustlin' Owls in men's college basketball.

The Mountaineers managed their first sweep of Oregon Tech since the 1970-71 season.
The 13-0 Eastern run allowed the top-rated Mountaineers to take a 23-point lead in the first half.
Oregon Tech plays at The College of Idaho Saturday.
Eastern's run gave the Mounties a 56-33 edge before the Hustlin' Owls rallied and were able to trim the deficit to 10 points with just over four minutes left to play.
Eastern's size allowed it to outscore Tech, 42-26, in the paint, and the Mountaineers were able to hold a 19-7 edge over the Hustlin' Owls in points scored off turnovers. Tech turned the ball over 14 times, Eastern had just 6.
Tech did slow down Eastern's Anthony Brown, who finished the game with 14 points. Jason Mumm led the Mounties with 17, and J.D. Esters also scored in double figures, with three other EOU players a field goal shy.
For Tech, David Clarke scored 16 points, Brandon Bautista 11 and Austen Flint and Dani Lopez 10 each. Lopez also had a game-high eight rebounds, and Bautista had a game-high four assists.
Tech made 43 percent of its shots, while Eastern made 47.
The Coyotes will carry momentum into the game against Tech coming off a 77-75 win Friday over Southern Oregon, their first win over a ranked team in more than three seasons.
