LA GRANDE, Ore. – Oregon Tech’s Kyle Waits was the lone member of the Hustlin’ Owls 2013-14 squad named to the All-Cascade Collegiate Conference men’s basketball team, announced today by the league office.
Concordia’s Adam Herman, a Third Team NAIA All-American last season, has been voted the 2013-14 Cascade Collegiate Conference men’s basketball Preseason Player of the Year by the CCC’s 10 head coaches. The 15-person preseason All-CCC team that features 14 returnees and one newcomer.
Waits, for the Owls last season, averaged 7.0 points to go with 3.9 rebounds a game, but the Owls are hoping for the 6-7 junior forward to take off where he left last year. After earning a starting position the last five games of the season for Tech, Waits averaged 19.6 points, including a career-high 32 points in win over Corban University. Tech would win 3 of the 5, losing two by a combined total of three points.
Waits knocked in a game-high 21 just last week in the Owls’ lone exhibition contest of the season versus University of Lethbridge and will open up regular season play at home on Sunday, November 3rd versus Pacific Union College.
