Jeff Corkill enters his second year leading both the Oregon Tech men’s and women’s golf squads. In his first season of competition in the Cascade Colligate Conference The Men’s team finish 4th place and the Women’s competed to a 5th place finish. Corkill has recruited several top players for the upcoming season with the goal to improve on the teams finishes and to move into the upper tier of the CCC.
Corkill served as Head Boys Golf Coach at Henley High School for 19 seasons, and after retiring from the Klamath County School District in 2010, spent two years as an assistant for the Hornets boy’s and girls’ golf programs. Corkill established the golf program at HHS in Klamath Falls in 1991, eventually leading the Hornets to 10-straight state championship appearances from 2000-2009.
Corkill led the HHS boys golf team to Skyline Conference Championships from 2000-2004 earning Skyline Coach of the Year accolades on five occasions.
Corkill began teaching Health and Physical education beginning at Brixner Junior High in 1981, while also serving both Henley High School (1992-09) and Mazama High School (2009-10) in the same capacity. During that time Corkill served as an assistant wrestling coach (1982-90) and head football coach (1990-91) at Brixner, and at Mazama was an assistant football coach from 1983-89.
Aside from coaching golf at Henley, Corkill was an assistant football coach for the Hornets from 1991-2001.
Jeff, a 1976 graduate of Cal Poly Pomona, and his wife of 35 years, Rebecca, have two grown children, a daughter Kendra, a 2009 Oregon Tech graduate and son Blaine, an Oregon State University graduate in 2011.
