KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Oregon Tech athletic department has announced their upcoming 2014 fall sports schedules for volleyball, cross country, golf and the men’s and women’s soccer teams. Fans will have the opportunity to watch 29 home contests between all the fall sports. A new feature being offered is the ability to download each individual sports schedule into your smart phone, device or into Microsoft Outlook directly from the Oregon Tech web page.
Fifth year head Coach Jason Corwin and the Owls open their 35-match volleyball slate with 11 of their first 13 matches on the road to begin the 2014 season. The 2014 campaign opens with a trip to Pacific Union College in Angwin, California. The Owls will open up home competition and conference play versus Corban University on Friday September 5th at 7:00 pm at Danny Miles Court. This season Oregon Tech will play host to a Round Robin Tournament starting at 10:00am on Saturday, September 13th. The Tournament field will include New Hope Christian, Simpson University and Oregon Tech.
The Tech men’s soccer team, and third year head coach Matt Munhall, will look to improve on a 5-13-0 overall mark when they open the 2014 season on the road at Simpson University on Saturday, August 23rd in Redding California. The Owls begin the 2014 season with their first four games on the road before opening up Cascade Conference action on Tuesday, September 16th versus Northwest University at 11:00 am in the first of seven home games to be played at Trevor Derrah Filed at Steen Sports Park.
Third year Head Coach Mike Hedlund will lead the Owl women into the 2014 soccer campaign trying to improve on a 7-10-1 overall mark from last season. The Owls open up the 2014 season on the road with two games at the University of Antelope Valley in Lancaster, California on August 22nd and 23rd against the Arizona Christian University and the host team UAV. The home schedule kicks-off on Saturday, August 30th versus Trinity Lutheran College beginning at 1 p.m. The next five contests are non-conference games and are all on the road. The Owls will then open up Cascade Conference play on Thursdays, September 25th against Northwest University at 7:00 pm. All home games will be played on Trevor Derrah field at Steen Sports Park.
The 2014 cross country teams, under the direction of fourth year head coach Jack Kegg, begin their season at home against Northwest Christian University in a dual meet at Steen Sports Park on Saturday August 30th at 10:00 am. The Cascade Collegiate Conference Preview will take place in Portland, Oregon this year on September 20th at Fernhill Park. The Owl men and women head back to Portland for the CCC Championships on November 8th hoping to send runners from both sides to the NAIA National Championship on November 22nd in Lawrence, Kansas.
Head Coach Jeff Corkill will lead the Oregon Tech men and women’s golf season into its sophomore season with a home match at the Running Y from September 21-23 before hosting the Border War at Centennial Golf Course in Medford, Oregon September 27th - 29th. The Owls will end their fall season at the Rose City Golf Course in Portland, Oregon October 5th -7th in a tournament hosted by Concordia University.
