OLYMPIA, Wash. –First half goals by Greg Wolfe and Joseph Ademofe gave the Evergreen State an early lead as the Geoducks dominated possession and downed Oregon Tech Saturday afternoon 3-1 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
Wolfe gave Evergreen State (7-5-3, 5-4-2 CCC) a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute as he dribbled around an Oregon Tech (5-9-0, 4-6-0 CCC) defender and scored from 7yds out.
Ademofe then gave the Geoducks a 2-0 lead as he scored from the top of the box in the 40th minute. The lead would hold into the halftime break.
Evergreen State went up 3-0 in the 61st minute as Dyson Fowler put back a Jack Fortune shot that deflected of the right post from 5 yards out.
Oregon Tech would not give up, and finally broke through the tough Geoduck defense in the 79th minute as Nathan Wade scored his fifth goal of the season. Wade took a cross from Ashton Betts and scored from 6-yards out denying Evergreen State of the shut out.
For the game, Evergreen State outshot Tech 34-9 and held an 11-5 advantage in shots on goal.
Oregon Tech Keeper Loren Jessen had a busy day, he was credited with a game high 8 saves facing 34 shots.
Oregon Tech will play at Northwest Christian University next Friday in Eugene, Ore. and at Corban University in Salem, Ore. on Saturday before wrapping up the 2013 regular season at home on Saturday, November 9th at 1:00 pm against perennial power house Concordia University on senior day.
