Three Tech Softball Players Named NAIA Scholar-Athlete

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NAIA has announced that 308 softball student-athletes have been named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Three Oregon Tech athletes made the list, as senior Kayde Schaefer, along with juniors Elise Goodell and Josie Campbell earned the award.  Schaefer is a two-time recipient while Goodell and Campbell are first-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes award winners.

The remainder of spring sport athletes, including baseball and track & field will be announced in early June.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
