EUGENE, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University volleyball team snared a three-set victory over Oregon Tech on Friday night, 25-18, 25-19, 29-27.
The Beacons (14-10, 7-7 CCC) hit .306 on the night, out-playing OIT on nearly all levels. NCU held a 47-31 advantage in kills, a 61-45 dig margin and a 5-1 edge in blocks. Tami Brown led the Beacons with a double-double, posting 12 kills and 12 digs as she hit .320, adding a team-high pair of service aces.
Maren Mansfield was also swinging well on Friday, collecting eleven kills while Janel Fetters added seven kills and a team-best .429 attack percentage. Cori Wallace had 21 assists and ten digs while Alyssa Dorr posted 18 assists. Dana McGowan led all players with 22 digs.
Oregon Tech (10-16, 2-11) was led by Kara Young with 12 kills and seven digs. Krista Galloway hit .705 going 6-for-8 without an error and Maria Baumann collected 18 digs.
Oregon Tech travels to Salem to take on Corban University at 7:00 pm on Saturday.
