Valenta helped lead the Vikings to the semifinal round of the 4A State Championships in 2012. Valenta, a pitcher/utility player at MHS, was a second-team all-conference selection as a utility player earning third-team honors in the circle. Valenta batted .464 with five doubles and four triples to go with a 1.64 ERA and 7-4 overall mark in the circle. For her efforts the senior earned Third-Team All-State recognition.
