Tech’s Dixon and Rogers Earn POTW Honors

(La Grande, Ore.) Oregon Tech’s Karissa Dixon, a 5-10 junior from Medford, Oregon has been named Cascade Collegiate Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week and Tech’s Dylan Rogers has been chosen Men’s Baseball Player of the Week for Feb 11-17 as announced by the conference office today.
Dixon combined for 40 points, 15 rebounds, and 7 assists, in home wins against Northwest Christian and Corban helping lead Oregon Tech to a perfect weekend and the No. 3 seed in the upcoming CCC tournament. The Lady Owls will host Evergreen State Tuesday night in the Quarter Finals at Danny Miles Court with the tip off scheduled for 7:00 pm.
Rogers, a 6-2 junior from Las Vegas, Nevada, help lead the Owls to a 2-2 record over the weekend with splits against Simpson and Antelope Valley. Rodgers recorded 12 hits in 17 at bats for a .708 batting average over the weekend, highlighted by a 5-5 game against Simpson College in which Rogers hit two doubles and a Triple.
Oregon Tech’s Jess Plummer and Taylor Schmidt from softball along with Kyle Waits from men’s basketball were named Player of the Week Honorable Mentions for the week.
