STARKVILLE, Miss. – Senior catcher Kayde Schaefer led a trio of Owls, as the Oregon Tech softball team placed three members on the 2012 NFCA All-Region Team, announced recently by the organization.

Schaefer (Portland, Ore.) was the lone Owl named to the All- Region First-Team, while Second-Team All-Region honors went to junior pitcher Taylor Schmidt (Medford, Ore.) and sophomore shortstop Shauna Collins (Roseburg, Ore.).

All three also earned 2012 first team all-conference honors after leading Oregon Tech to back-to-back regular-season and conference tournament titles, along with a second-straight berth to the NAIA National Softball Championships where the Owls finished 2-1 in pool play. Schaefer and Collins were both 2012 Cascade Collegiate Conference Gold Glove recipients, while Schmidt was named 2012 CCC Pitcher of the Year.
