Oregon Tech and Eastern Oregon Play to a 1-1 Draw

(La Grande, Ore.) – Playing on a cold wintery afternoon with temperatures in the upper 30’s and a wind chill below freezing, the Oregon Tech women’s soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with Eastern Oregon. Oregon Tech now sits at 6-5-2 on the season and 4-2-2 in CCC play and needs a win tomorrow against College of Idaho to stay in the playoff hunt. Eastern moves to 1-13-1 on the season and 1-6-1 in CCC play.
After a scoreless first half, Eastern Oregon got the first goal of the day in the 51st minute when Claire Posadas scored on a corner kick putting the home team up 1-0.
Oregon Tech would answer in the 73rd minute as AJ Castle took a Jacque Wood cross and scored tying the match at 1-1.
The two teams would battle through two, 10 minute overtimes without either team being able to get the elusive “Golden Goal”.
For the game OIT out shot EOU 33-25 and held a 8-7 advantage in shots on goal.
Oregon Tech will now travel to Caldwell, Idaho to play College of Idaho Saturday, at 12:00pm.
