Oregon Tech Takes Down Wolves, 92-58

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. –A 15-0 run to start the first half and 21-1 run beginning the second solidified an Oregon Tech victory over Walla Walla University tonight at Danny Miles Court, as the Lady Owls moved to 2-0 on the season after a 92-58 win over the visiting Wolves.
Much the same as last night, the Lady Owls jumped up quickly 15-0 to start the contest. Walla Walla However would outscore Tech 34-30 over the next 17 minutes. WWU drew to single digits, 30-21, with 6:30 on the clock eventually trailing by just 7 points with three minutes to play before the half. Tech would take a 45-34 lead into the intermission.
A Kassi Conditt short jumper opened the second half scoring for the Owls, while a Nicole Aboumrad triple capped Tech’s 11-0 run to put the home team up 56-34 with 16:35 remaining in the game.
A WWU free throw stopped the run, but the Owls scored 11-straight to take a commanding 67-35 lead. The Wolves never got closer than 26, as the Owls took the second-straight from Walla Walla by a 92-58 final.
Karissa Dixon went for 21 points to lead Tech’s offense and added a game-high 8 assists to go with 5 rebounds. Colleen Hunt finished 6-of-7 from the floor adding 13 points and 4 assists with Kassi Conditt recording a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards. Maria Ramirez finished with 12 points with Nicole Aboumrad and Tess Armstrong combining for 15 points in the win.
Dani Carlman led all scorers with 23 points to go with a team-high 6 rebounds, while Abbey Manzano recorded 9 and Giselle Schmitz finished with 8 points.
Oregon Tech (2-0) travels to Rocklin, Calif. to play in the William Jessup University Invitational facing host WJU on Friday and Simpson University Saturday.
