Oregon Tech Moves Past Simpson, 83-60

ASHLAND, Ore. – Oregon Tech finished with five players in double figures as the Lady Owls defeated Simpson University in game 1 of the Flagship Inn Classic this afternoon in Ashland by an 83-60 score. 

Oregon Tech moves to 5-2 overall, while Simpson falls to 2-4.  Oregon Tech takes on Lewis-Clark State of Lewiston, Idaho Saturday beginning at 1:30 PM.

Nicole Aboumrad finished with a career-high 21 points for Tech, including a 5-for-8 effort from long range.  Kassi Conditt chipped in 14 points to go with 6 blocks and 5 rebounds, while freshman Tess Armstrong added 13 points in the win.  Colleen Hunt and Karissa Dixon finished with 11 points each, with Dixon coming down with a game-high 8 rebounds.  Maria Ramirez netted 7 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and handed out 6 assists.

Kaila Smith led Simpson with 13 points, followed by 12 from Ariassa Wilson and 10 from Tiffany Aaserude.

Oregon Tech was 28-of-55 (50.9%) shooting overall, while holding the Red Hawks to 35.8% including just 9-for-29 in the second half.  The Owls held a 40-27 edge on the boards, including 13 on the offensive end.
