Oregon Tech Sweeps CCC Road Trip with 56-50 Win at Northwest Christian

EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon Tech led start to finish, as the Lady Owls swept this weekend’s Cascade Collegiate Conference road trip after a 56-50 win tonight over Northwest Christian University at the Morse Event Center.

The Owls held the Beacons to just 13 first half points to take a 26-13 advantage into the break.
Nicole Aboumrad opened the game with a 3-pointer, while Tess Armstrong gave the Owls their first double digit lead, 13-3, on a short jumper with 12:44 remaining in the first period. NCU cut their own deficit to just two points, but Tech would close out the half on a 13-2 run to lead 26-13 heading into the second period.
Tech took a 14 point lead, their largest of the night, at the midway point of the second half before an NCU 12-5 run over the next six minutes made it a 46-39 game. NUC would get as close as 5 points with 1:13 remaining. Down the stretch the Owls would connect on 8-of-10 free throws, including four each from Colleen Hunt and Nicole Aboumrad, securing the 56-50 victory.
Colleen Hunt netted a team-high 13 points, followed by 10 from Nicole Aboumrad. Kassi Conditt, Karissa Dixon and Tess Armstong added 9 points each with Conditt grabbing 8 rebounds and Dixon handing out 3 assists.
Oregon Tech (8-2, 2-0 CCC) next travels to Cal Pac members Menlo College and Cal-Maritime before resuming league play at home versus No. 24 The College of Idaho and No. 10 Eastern Oregon University.
