11.06.2009 - Owls Offense Sputters in Loss at Northwest

KIRKLAND, Wash. - The Oregon Tech volleyball never did get the offense on track, losing in three sets to Northwest University tonight in Kirkland 25-15, 25-12, 25-20. The Owls managed just 20 kills in the contest and hit at a -.070 percentage. Meanwhile, NU tallied 35 kills and hit at a .232 clip in the win.

Oregon Tech falls to 6-19 overall and 5-12 in conference play.

Joey Larsen led the Owls with seven kills followed by Megan Christensen, Mikayla Morgan and Christine Bansen each with three. Morgan added a team-high 13 digs, while Larsen finished the match with 10.

The Owls will face The Evergreen State College in Olympia on Saturday to close out the season.

11.02.2009 - Tech's Christensen Named CCC Hitter of the Week

Portland, Ore. Oregon Tech's Megan Christensen (Klamath Falls, Ore.), a junior outside hitter, has been named Cascade Collegiate Conference (Volleyball-Hitter) Player of the Week. Christensen hit at a .406 clip to help the Owls sweep their weekend CCC series. Christensen had 19 kills each in victories over Northwest Christian and Corban, and added 12 digs, five aces, seven block assists, and a solo block.

Other nominees: Marcella Hernandez, College of Idaho; Jessica Lea, Eastern Oregon; Leanne Stennett, Southern Oregon; Megan Marineau, Warner Pacific; Raluca Dinca, Concordia; Jenny Harman, Corban.

The Oregon Tech Volleyball Team (6-18, 5-11 CCC) will wrap up the 2009 season this Friday and Saturday, November 6th and 7th in Washington, with games at Northwest University and Evergreen State.
