Oregon Tech Volleyball

First year head coach Angela Stewart led 2007 sqaud to a 23-13 mark and second trip to Region I Tournament.

 

 Oregon Tech head coach Angela Stewart led the 2007 volleyball team to a 23-13 mark, the most wins since the team was reinstated in 1998.  A 15-5 Cascade Conference record was good for a third place finish that gave the Lady Owls an automatic berth to the NAIA Region I tournament held in Spokane, WA., the second trip for the Lady Owls in the last three seasons. 

 

 

Nicole Andrews returns after selected to CCC all-conference team. Average 2.69 kills per game with a .262 hitting % (No. 8 CCC).

 

 

Oregon Tech outside hitter Michelle Klaja (Klamath Falls, OR) was a 2007 NAIA Region I first team selection along with being named to the CCC all-conference first team.  Teammate Nicole Andrews (Chehalis, WA) was an all-conference honorable mention selection. 

Tech will lose six players going into the 2008 season.  Stephanie Willett (North Bend, OR), Michelle Klaja, Katie Fuller (Roseburg, OR) and Kelsey Russell (Phoenix, OR) all finished their senior season and Katie Coburn (JR. Keizer, OR) and Jackie Kosinski (SO. Cloverdale, OR) will leave on an extern. 

Second year head coach Angela Stewart hopes for another return trip to the the post-season and will look to Nicole Andrews (2.69 kills/game) and redshirt Krista Wooley (SR. Reedsport, OR) to lead the offense into the 2008 year.  Anna Leal (JR. Yreka, CA) and Beth Fuller (SO. Roseburg, OR), both averaging 1.07 blocks per contest (T7th CCC) will sure up the middle while libero Krystie Vea (Honolulu, HI), entering her junior year, led the team in digs with 4.50 per game (5th CCC).
