Oregon Tech’s women’s softball team has been named the Adidas Team of the Week
LA GRANDE, Ore. –Oregon Tech’s women’s softball team has been named the Adidas Team of the Week, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
The NAIA’s No. 9 ranked team ran their record to 14-1 on the season after an impressive five game sweep at the Southern Oregon Invite. In two days OIT defeated Simpson University and the University of British Columbia each twice and also were victorious over Holy Names University.
The Owls outscored their opponents 31-8 during the stretch and are also on a twelve game winning streak. Pitchers Taylor Schmidt and Rylee Carleton each recorded complete games on day one while Melissa Logan drove in three runs in the final game against UBC.
Oregon Tech (14-1, 0-0 CCC) will be in action this coming weekend as they head south to take on William Jessup, Menlo and Simpson. This will be the final tune-up before opening up CCC play in defense of their 2012 conference title. The Owls hit the road March 8-9 and will take on The College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon.
