Oregon Tech Splits Day 2 at Concordia Invitational

McMinnville, Ore. – Chase Meister tossed a complete-game six hitter as Oregon Tech scored a 2-1 win over Willamette University in today’s opening game of the Concordia University Invitational, but failed to plate a run in game 2 versus Linfield College, falling to the Wildcats by an 11-0 final.

After going 1-3 at the CU Invite, Oregon Tech falls to 6-9 on the season and next travels to The Master’s and Concordia-Irvine for a pair of doubleheaders before beginning conference play at Concordia University in Portland.
Ethan Schlecht led off the second inning with a single and later scored on Dustin Norman’s ground out to put the Owls up 1-0. Tech moved up 2-0 after a one out single by Ryan Hayden scored Tyson Dahl, who earlier doubled in the inning. Willamette pushed a run across in the top of the fourth, but Meister held the Bearcats scoreless over the next five innings to earn the win. Meister (2-1) allowed six hits in nine innings while striking out seven and walked none. Tyson Dahl finished 3-for-4 at the plate with two doubles in the win.
Dahl also went 3-for-4 at the plate in game two with a pair of doubles, with Spencer Reed recording Tech’s only other hit versus Linfield, as the Owls fell 11-0 in the nightcap. Linfield pounded out 15 hits with the Owls not helping their cause with 5 errors in the game.
