Lady Owls Ink Davis High MVP
Delta Valley Conference MVP Ashleigh Vandenbrink helped Davis HS to a league title in 2012.
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech women’s basketball coach Scott Meredith recently announced the signing of Ashleigh Vandenbrink (Davis, Calif.) to a national letter-of-intent. Vandenbrink is the third signee to the 2013 Lady Owls recruiting class.
Vandenbrink, a 5-10 guard/forward, played for Davis High School leading the Blue Devils to the Delta Valley league championship (9-1) and a 23-5 overall mark last season. Vandenbrink tallied 16.4 points, 10.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 3.2 steals per contest to earn Delta Valley Conference MVP accolades in 2012. Vandenbrink was also a three-time DVC first-team all-league recipient while being named the team MVP the past two seasons.
“Ashleigh is a dynamic basketball player that understands how to play the game and does the little things well,” Meredith said. “Averaging a double-double from the guard position speaks volumes, as does her long list of MVP’s and all-league honors. Playing at the highest level of high school basketball in California in a very competitive league indicates she is “battle-tested. She is a perfect fit for our roster and we are thrilled Ashleigh chose Oregon Tech.”
Ashleigh is the daughter of Kurt and Barbara Vandenbrink of Davis, Calif. and plans to pursue a degree in engineering beginning this fall at Oregon Tech.
