Oregon Tech Falls at Simpson

REDDING, Calif. – Oregon Tech held a 2-1 advantage over Simpson University in
non-conference volleyball action tonight in Redding, but the Red Hawks
were able to battle back to defeat the Owls for the first time in
program history 3-2 (25-16, 23-25, 18-25, 25-23, 15-12).
Oregon Tech falls to 7-9 overall and will try to get back on track when the Owls host their final non-conference match of 2013 versus Walla Walla University at 10 a.m. this Tuesday at Danny Miles Court.
Kelsey Sampson was a bright spot for the Tech offense as the freshman tallied 18 kills to go with 15 digs and a pair of aces. Marlee Smith recorded nine kills and 10 digs with Madisen Garlie, Alexa Burdett and Linsey Jones combining for 17 kills in the loss for Tech. Tori Porter notched 19 assists and Megan Holland 15 with Jennifer Lakin anchoring the Owl defense with 22 digs.
