CALDWELL, Idaho – Hitting a season-high 45-percent clip, The College of Idaho rolled to a 25-14, 25-15, 25-13 victory over Oregon Tech tonight in the J.A. Albertson Activities Center. The Lady Yotes (5-8, 5-2 CCC) rolled up 46 kills against just five hitting errors in their most complete effort of the season.
The Owls (9-12, 2-5) jumped out to a quick 4-1 lead in Set 1, but Lili Brochado had three kills in a 12-2 push to build a 13-6 lead and were never threatened.
Set 2 was close early, as a Victoria Porter kill on an overpass got Tech within 9-7 – but a pair of kills from both Kylee Nawahine and Sofia Anxo helped the Yotes rattle off seven of the next nine points to extend the margin to 16-9 and picked up the set win.
The finale was all C of I, as Anxo had four kills and Sierra Porter logged a pair of aces in a 12-4 start to the set as the Yotes recorded their second three-set win of the year.
Anxo led all players with 14 kills, with Brochado adding 11 kills. Porter had 37 assists and 11 digs, while Nawahine added nine kills and nine digs.
Kelsey Sampson led OIT with eight kills, with Marlee Smith chipping in with seven kills and a team-high nine digs. Kayleigh Whelchel had 17 assists for the Owls.
