Oregon Tech Women Remain, Men Back in NAIA Coaches’ Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After splitting last week’s road trip the Oregon Tech women remained in the receiving vote’s category, while the men, after falling out of the latest poll, also received votes in the third addition of the NAIA Division II Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.

For the fourth-straight time, Concordia (Neb.) claims the No. 1 ranking in the women’s poll, while four of the top five teams held their positions, including top-ranked Cardinal Stritch (Wis.), on the men’s side.  The Wolves were the unanimous No. 1 pick with 13 first-place votes and 343 total points. With a 12-0 record, Cardinal Stritch is one of two programs with an undefeated record in men’s Division II.

The other undefeated, Eastern Oregon, holds at the second position with 332 points. The Mountaineers are 14-0 and are tied with No. 7 William Penn (Iowa) for the most wins in the NAIA. Eastern Oregon faces No. 12 Southern Oregon on Friday in a Cascade Collegiate Conference showdown.

The Eastern Oregon women move up a spot to No. 9, while the College of Idaho women remain in the No. 22 spot.  Southern Oregon is also receiving votes along with the Owl women.

Along with No. 2 EOU in the men’s poll and No. 12 SOU, Warner Pacific comes in at No. 14 with Northwest University at No. 21.

The Oregon Tech women host both ranked teams, welcoming No. 22 C of I on Friday and ninth-ranked EOU this Saturday.

After Friday’s contest versus College of Idaho, the Owl men host No. 2 EOU before traveling to No. 14 Warner Pacific the following weekend.
