Lady Yotes Down Lady Owls

Jan 19, 2013
CALDWELL, Idaho – A 14-2 run to close the first half fueled a key College of Idaho Cascade Conference victory, as the No. 20 ranked Lady Yotes stopped Oregon Tech, 60-44, inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The C of I (13-6, 9-2 CCC) limited OIT to just one made field goal over the final nine minutes of the opening half, sprinting to a 30-13 lead at the break. The Yotes cruised the rest of the way, limiting the Owls (15-7, 7-4) to just 26-percent shooting on the night.

Laura Geis had 13 points and 15 rebounds, Felicity Jones had 13 points and five assists, and Katelin Shannon had 12 points in the win for the Coyotes, avenging a road loss to OIT in December.

Tech was led by 14 points and 14 rebounds from Kassi Conditt and 10 points from Nicole Aboumrad.

Lady Owls return home next weekend to play Concordia University on Friday and Warner Pacific on Saturday.
