Oregon Tech Drops Spot in Poll to No. 21

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Two road wins in Cascade Conference play over the weekend, and a 21-4 overall mark, didn’t seem to help the Lady Owls, as Oregon Tech fell one spot to the No. 21 position in the NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Tuesday.

Saint Francis (Ind.) holds the No. 1 ranking for the sixth time this season.  The Cougars were the unanimous selection in the seventh regular-season edition, garnering all 14 first-place votes and 374 total points. Saint Francis is the only remaining unbeaten team in NAIA Division II women’s basketball with a 24-0 record.

Checking in at No. 2 for the second-straight week is Davenport (Mich.) with 362 points. Dropping one spot this week is No. 3 Northwestern (Iowa) with 346 points.  Rounding out the top five are No. 4 Jamestown (N.D.) and No. 5 Hastings (Neb.).

Eastern Oregon University, who split at home this past weekend, also fell a spot and now sit at No. 17 this week.  College of Idaho remains to receive votes in this week’s poll.
