KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Oregon Tech women’s basketball program announced recently that junior college recruit Brittney Garrett (Paskenta, Calif.) has signed to play with the Hustlin’ Owls beginning this season.
Garrett, a three-sport athlete at Corning High School, most recently competed at Shasta College for two seasons under head coach Jerry Brown. Garrett was a Golden Valley first team all-conference selection for the Knights where she led the GVC in scoring and rebounding. Garrett’s 21 points and 11 rebounds, after her sophomore season at Shasta, earned the 5-11 post/forward Second Team All-State honors.
“We are thrilled Brittney chose Oregon Tech to continue her education and basketball playing career,” mentioned Meredith. “Brittney brings in over 60 games of junior college basketball experience that should really complement our group of returnees. Her scoring and rebounding numbers at Shasta are impressive, as she will be an excellent addition to our program.”
Brittney is the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth Garrett and is majoring in communications at Oregon Tech.
Oregon Tech finished the 2013-14 season with a school-record 28 wins (28-6), while winning the Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament championship and earning their second trip to the NAIA national championship in Sioux City, Iowa.
