KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Head golf coach Jeff Corkill announced that Molalla High School standout Janelle Ferlan has signed a letter of intent to continue her collegiate golf career at Oregon Tech.
Ferlan, a two-sport athlete at MHS, competed four seasons for the Indians volleyball and golf programs. Ferlan posted rounds of 76 and 80 to finish at 12-over-par at the 2014 district championships and followed that up with rounds of 78 and 80 at the 2014 OSAA 4A tournament at Trysting Tree Golf Course in Corvallis. Her 13-over-par 157 was good enough for runner-up honors at the state tournament, while leading her MHS team to their fifth-straight state title.
“I am very excited to bring in a top-level player of Janelle’s caliber to our golf program,” exclaimed Corkill. “She is a key piece in building a competitive women’s program and will make an immediate impact in a highly competitive Cascade Conference.”
Janelle is the daughter of Steve and Claire Ferlan and plans to major in business/marketing at Oregon Tech beginning this fall.
