(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) – After a hard fought scoreless first half, it was Southern Oregon outscoring Oregon Tech 3-1 in the final stanza to win a crucial Cascade Conference match Sunday afternoon at Trevor Derrah Field.
The Raiders move to 4-2-1 in CCC play and 8-5-2 on the season with the win. Oregon Tech drops to 4-2-1 in CCC play and 6-5-1 overall with the loss.
Stephanie Carr gave SOU the lead as she chipped in a Penalty Kick in the 51st minute.
Megan McArthur gave the Raiders a 2-0 lead as she took a loose ball and scored in the upper left from 15 yards out in the 53rd minute.
Oregon Tech would battle back and make it a 2-1 game in the 79th minute when Hanna Gil flicked in with her shoulder a Rebekah Nisbet Corner kick just past the SOU Keeper.
Southern Oregon would put the game away in the 85th minute as Stephanie Carr scored her second goal of the game, taking a Sydney Paulsen pass and scoring from 2 yards out right in the center of the goal.
SOU controlled possession and play, out shooting Oregon Tech 17-8 and dominating shots on goal at 9-3.
For the game, Oregon Tech was whistled for 9 fouls including two yellow cards with SOU only getting 3 fouls for the entire match including one yellow card.
Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon will wrap up CCC regular season next weekend playing at Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho.
