ASHLAND – Oregon Tech was held scoreless at Southern Oregon University as the Raider defeated the Owls 3-0 in today in Cascade Conference women’s soccer action at University Field.
SOU tallied a pair of goals in the first half and tacked another in the second for the Raiders, who improved to 4-2-2 overall. The Owls fell to 3-4-1.
The Raiders got going in the 14th minute when Paige Kilpatrick (Murrieta, Calif./Murrieta Valley)'s throw-in bounced in front of the net, setting up Welch from point-blank range for her first score since 2011. The assist was Kilpatrick's second of the season, and she's hooked up both on throw-ins.
DeChristofaro's second goal of the season came in the 26th minute when she rebounded Alyssa Bricker (Temecula, Calif./Temecula Valley)'s shot off the crossbar, and Caylin Jackson (Claremont, Calif./Claremont) crossed to Paulsen from five yards out for the final goal with 25 minutes left in the match
Oregon Tech goalkeeper Rebekah Matteri recorded 11 saves while SOU's Kylie Moltzen needed only seven. Rebekah Nisbet got off six of OIT's 10 shots and put four on goal.
Next up the Owls host Northwest Christian on Tuesday, October 1st beginning at 3 p.m. at the Steen Sports Park.
