SALEM, Ore. – For the second year in a row, the Oregon Tech women’s soccer season has ended on the road in the first round of the CCC playoffs. The Owls lost to Corban University today 3-1 ending the 2013 season at 7-10-1.
Corban (11-6-2) opened up a scoreless game in the 32nd minute as Katelyn Weaver scored on a put back after a nice save by Oregon Tech Goal Keeper Rebekah Matteri. Matteri would have a busy day as she faced 26 shots, 16 on goal as she was credited with 13 saves on the day.
Corban would lead at the half 1-0.
The Warriors quickly added to their lead just 22 seconds into the second half as Audrey Sullivan took a Randi Donahue cross and scored into the left side of the goal giving Corban the 2-0 lead.
Sullivan was at it again for the Warriors just 11 minutes later, this time taking a far sideline pass from Kaylyn Siobal and scoring over the head of Matteri giving the home team a 3-0 lead.
Oregon Tech senior Meghan Drost would score for the Owls spoiling the shutout in the 89th minute. Drost took a misplayed ball from the Warrior keeper and scored from 8 yards out making it a 3-1 final.
