KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Head Coach Greg Stewart announced his third recruit to the 2015 Oregon Tech softball squad, as Makenzie Norwill (Okanogan, Wash.) will join the Owl roster next season.

Norwill, an upcoming senior at Okanogan High School, last season went 20-4 in the circle for the Bulldogs, while striking out 174.  At the plate Norwill batted .402 with 10 homeruns, while driving in 37 runs.  For her efforts Norwill was a Second-Team All-State selection in 2013, while earning first-team all-conference honors in both her sophomore and junior seasons.

“Makenzie is a very strong, versatile athlete that could help us in the future both as a pitcher and position player,” commented Stewart.  “She has the ability to hit with power and as she gets more experience in the circle, could be a difference maker on our pitching staff.”

Makenzie is the daughter of Chris and Bill Norwill and plans on pursuing a degree in Radiologic Science.

Oregon Tech opens up the 2014 season in a two-day six-game tournament hosted by Simpson University in Redding, Calif. on Friday, February 7th and Saturday, February 8th.  Opponents and times have yet to be announced.
