· CASHNet abides by the security of the Payment
Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCIDSS.)

Is CASHNet as secure as a telephone
transaction?
· Yes, it is very secure it uses the Payment
Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCIDSS.)
· OIT has always guarded your account information but this system is even
more secure than we can provide.
· Check PCIDSS: https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/index.htm.
· In addition to CASHNet
and OIT’s
security obligations, you are responsible for keeping your transaction secure.

How can I be sure my CASHNet information is secure?
· You should make sure your transactions are done in a secure setting.
· You should never leave your computer logged into CASHNet when you are not using it.
· You should never let anyone else log into your CASHNet
account with your account ID.
· Parents or benefactors should login with their benefactor ID that you
create for them.
· Do not share your
login and password (pin) with anyone.
Can my Benefactor see my bank account number?
·
No he cannot see the detail of your Saved Accounts information.
·
He can see the check information but
the account number is modified.
·
You cannot see your benefactors Saved
Accounts information.
OIT Bill:
When should I pay my bill
because I have an account balance but I do not have a Bill?
What time of
month can I expect a new Electronic Bill?
·
Bills are generated around the 15th
of each month.
·
Interest charges are put on at that
time.
Why don’t I have
an Electronic Bill when I have an account balance?
·
Bills are generated once a month and
your transaction may have been put on after the bill was generated.
·
No bills are sent for a zero or
negative balance due.
·
Future due (charges for next term) amounts are not
included in the bill.
·
Any current balances are due when the charge is incurred.
How do my
parents pay my bill when they don’t have a computer?
· They can send a check to OIT Cashiers office.
· They may come to the OIT Cashier’s window with cash or check.
How are we notified about our
Electronic Bill (eBill.)
· The official OIT billing notice comes through the OIT email.
· Your benefactor will receive an email notice also at the address you or he
has provided in CASHNet.
What if I miss my billing
notice, I don’t access my OIT email regularly.
·
Even
if you did not receive an email you still are responsible for paying your bill
on time.
·
You
can login at any time to CASHNet.
·
You
don’t have to get the notice first because you can pay on your account at
anytime.
·
Your
current account balance is due at the time you incur the charge.
·
If
you would like to get a notice at another email location you can set yourself
up with an alternate ID in the Benefactor
PINs section.
Don’t rely on this option for all your CASHNet communication.
Notice of your eRefund and other communications will still go to your
OIT email account.
Electronic Payments.
I am in CASHNet but cannot figure out how to pay with an eCheck?
·
Navigate
to the eCheck form by pressing make payment in the blue navigation bar at the top
of the screen.
·
Press
the line item you want to make a payment on.
·
If
you are paying on a current balance it will default an amount and you may change
it if you are making a partial payment.
·
Complete
information for the line item you have selected.
·
After
you have filled in the requested information, press Add to basket.
·
You
may continue shopping or if you are done press the Checkout button.
·
Follow
the instructions to fill out the eCheck information.
Account Access:
Why doesn’t
my OIT Student ID and PIN work when I try to log into CASHNet?
·
You
cannot use your social security number at the CASHNet site.
·
Your
OIT student ID starts with “918”, you may call the registrars office if you do
not know your “918” number.
·
You
may only use the first 6 characters of your student PIN.
·
Type
your OIT Student PIN in lower case only, when logging into CASHNet.
What do the terms eBill, eRefund and eCheck mean?
·
eBill is short for Electronic Bill.
·
eRefund is short for Electronic Refund.
·
eCheck is short for Electronic Check.
·
All of CASHNet’s transactions are done
electronically through the internet.
Who has
access to my CASHNet account?
·
Anyone you choose to set-up in the Benefactor
PINs section.
·
You will give them a login name and password.
·
It is more secure if you do not let others do transactions with your
login. Give them their own login and
password in the Benefactor PINs section.
Can I give my parents access
to my CASHNet account?
·
Yes, you may enroll them in the Benefactor PINs
section for the payment process.
·
The Benefactor can login at anytime
to pay on the account.
·
The Benefactor’s financial
information will be secured to his login.
·
The Benefactor may change his
password and his email address in his login.
Can my parents access CASHNet without going through Banner
Web for Student?
·
Yes through direct access at CASHNet
or at the OIT cashiers web site.
·

Why can my parent access CASHNet to view my bill and not be able to access the credit card
option?
· You will need sign him up for both options.
· The main option is where you can
sign-up for eRefund, view your eBill and make payments with an eCheck.
· The second option is for making credit
card payments.
Is CASHNet my only option for managing my
OIT account balance?
·
To Pay with cash or check or receive
a refund paper check:
o You still can send a check to Oregon Institute of Technology, Attention:
Cashier.
o You can come to the cashier’s window and pay with check or cash.
o You can come to the cashier’s window to pick-up a refund check.
·
Paying with a credit card or Electronic Check:
o Credit card payments are only processed through CASHNet.
o Electronic Check (eCheck) payments are only processes through CASHNet.
·
Receiving a Direct Deposit Refund:
o Direct deposit refunds are only managed through CASHNet.
o
