Pre- Arrival Checklist

Checklist

  1. Official Transcripts - Check the International Students Transcripts for more information.
  2. Health History - The International Student Services will send you the health history form. It is important to fill the form out and submit it with your immunization record; otherwise, you will not be able to register for classes. Check the Student Health Center for more information.
  3. Immigration Documents - Make 2 copies of all documents so that you will be able to leave a copy with any Customs and Boarder Patrol Officer upon request.
    • Passport
    • Visa
    • I-20
    • Financial Statement
    • I-901 Receipt
  4. Proof of English Proficiency - Student should have one of the following to prove their English Language Proficiency:
    • TOEFL: A minimum score of 520 in paper-based, 190 in computer-based, or 68 in internet-based
    • IELTS: A minimum score of 6.
    • ACT or SAT test scores are not required for international admission, however, students may choose to take either test as justification to waive TOEFL or IELTS.
    • Completion of a Level 112 course at an ESL Language Center or grade B or better in WRI 121 from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university.
  5. Plan Your Travel Arrangement
  6. Attend New Student Orientation - All New Student Orientation. There will be an additional session for international students.
  7. Apply for Your Visa - Make sure to pay your I-901 SEVIS fee before applying for the visa. Click here to watch a tutorial. International U.S.Embassy List.
  8. Housing - We highly encourage new students to live on-campus, at least for the first year. Check Housing & Residence Life for more information.
  9. Placement Test - All incoming students are required to take a math and writing placement test. Contact Testing Services for more information.
