For students with significant alcohol or drug problems, Oregon Tech has worked with a local community agency (Lutheran Community Services Northwest, or LCS) to develop a program called ADAPT (Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment). This program includes evaluation and outpatient treatment at LCS for individuals ready to explore alternatives to alcohol and drugs. Students interested in a referral to the ADAPT program should meet with one of Oregon Tech's counselors as a first step.
If you think you might have an alcohol or drug problem, but you aren't sure if you need help, we recommend you come to the Integrated Student Health Center for a preliminary assessment. Individuals interested in conducting a confidential self-assessment of their drinking behavior may want to try the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) developed by the World Health Organization.
