Legal and Mediation Assistance

Every person is entitled to know their rights in every situation. Some students may find themselves in circumstances that require legal assistance. It is important to know your rights regarding freedoms of press, speech, assembly, and religion, and the rights to due process, equal protection and privacy under the law. Students may find themselves needing assistance in the following areas:

  •  Family mediation
  • Parenting planning
  • Civil liberties
  • Rights when approached by a police officer
  • Sexual assault

Klamath Falls has several legal and mediation resources available for all people regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation. LASO of Klamath Falls provides legal services regarding:
Legal and Mediation Services

  • Housing
  • Protection from abuse
  • Divorce, child custody, and child support
  • Taxes
  • Wages, discrimination in the workplace, and unemployment benefits
  • Government benefits, including Food Stamps
  • Immigration benefits
  • Disability health benefits and special education
  • Senior health benefits and care
