and follow these 5 STEPS TO GRADUATION

1. Meet with Your Advisor

Meet with your advisor, they will run an electronic degree audit for you and check your progress toward a degree.

Note: Oregon Tech is in the process of transitioning from paper/hard copy petitions to online/electronic petitions. Paper/hard copy petitions are also available. Your petition to graduate should be submitted at least 2 terms prior to anticipated degree completion.

Distance Education Students: Students in the online degree completion programs offered through Oregon Tech's Distance Education Department should contact diana.evans@oit.edu two terms before graduation for correct applications and petitions.

2. Submit an Application for Degree

Students seeking an Oregon Tech degree must submit an application for degree at least two terms prior to anticipated degree completion.

3. Register for Commencement

Complete the walk form if you wish to participate in the graduation ceremony. Visit the commencement site for details about the ceremony dates, regalia, times and location etc. If you do not wish to participate in commencement the Registrar's Office will mail your diploma to you, please ensure you have updated your current address.

4. Complete an Exit Interview & Clear Your Holds

All graduating seniors who have loans must participate in an exit interview in order to graduate.

Students should check their account for holds before graduation. Those who have holds placed on their accounts will not be given their diplomas (review the diploma release policy). Holds can result from very small charges, such as library fines or medicinal charges at the Student Health Center. Students can ensure that their accounts are free of holds at the Cashier's Office in Snell Hall or on Web for Student.

5. Complete Degree Requirements

Requirements for associates and bachelors degrees at Oregon Institute of Technology are determined by, and vary with, academic departments. Curricular requirements for each degree can be found in the catalog under each department.
