Oregon Tech Flu Update #10 - January 11, 2010
As the Incident Commander for Oregon Tech's response to the H1N1 flu, I will provide updates to campus on a weekly basis.
Incidents
It is predicted that another wave of H1N1 is likely to occur early winter term, but no cases were reported last week. However, there are reports of colds and flu-like illness around campus. If you have a fever, please STAY HOME! Everyone has an important role on campus but the number priority should be your health and not sharing your germs with others on campus. Being out of classes or work for a few days is better than making others sick.
Vaccine
The H1N1 vaccine is available to any Oregon Tech community member (over 6 months old) and is free of charge.
The Integrated Student Health Center in Semon Hall currently has approximately 100 H1N1 doses and is giving vaccinations on a walk-in basis.
Prevention
Please continue your prevention behaviors as you will minimize getting not only H1N1, but the seasonal flu that will increase in the coming weeks as well as the common cold. Please remember that each of us has a role to play in preventing the spread of illnesses! Thanks for your prevention efforts.
If you have questions, please let me know.
Erin
