Admission

Distance Ed has specialized applications, listed on this webpage, that are different from general Oregon Tech applications. These applications are designed to send your information directly to Distance Ed personnel. This will put you on the fast track for admissions, transfer evaluation, advising, and registration.

Students with transfer credits will have those credits evaluated to determine what will transfer to Oregon Tech and specifically, into the program to which the student applies. A student with 36 quarter credits or 24 semester credits is considered to be a transfer student, provided these credits are earned through a college or university with Regional accreditation (Contact de@oit.edu for specific information on accreditation). Students with fewer credits are required to submit official high school transcripts or GED scores. High school transcripts are also required of all students who graduated after 1996.

The application deadline (see note below Application Deadlines about non-admit form) for each term is three weeks prior to the first day of the term.  This assures that all needed documentation has been received, and the application can be processed in a timely manner. Documentation may include, but is not limited to:

  • Official college transcripts
  • Licensure and registry documentation
  • Official high school transcripts
  • GED certificate and scores

Note: The Re-enrolling and Update Application is a general purpose application for returning Oregon Tech students.
