DHE 100 Introduction to Dental Hygiene

Distance Ed offers online DHE 100, Introduction to Dental Hygiene, to students at a distance who anticipate applying for admission to Oregon Tech's Dental Hygiene program in the future. DHE 100 is part of the pre-Dental Hygiene freshman year and is a required prerequisite for admission to the professional program at the sophomore level in Klamath Falls and LaGrande. This course is not intended for freshman students attending the pre-Dental Hygiene program on the Klamath Falls campus.

While DHE 100 is offered every term, students applying for admission to the professional program must complete DHE 100 by the spring term prior to their intended start date.

Details on the steps to enroll in DHE 100 are listed below. If you have any problems in completing these steps, please email de@oit.edu or call 866-497-0008, for assistance during regular Oregon Tech business hours.

Biology 200 - Medical Terminology, is also offered every term and is a required prerequisite for entry into the Dental Hygiene program.  Follow the procedure below for registration.

Apply for non-admit status at Oregon Tech

For the non-admit status, complete the Distance Ed Non-Admit Application and pay no application fees. This status allows you to take up to eight credit hours per term. The Distance Education Office will process your application, register you in DHE 100 and/or BIO 200, and send you an email confirmation.

Pay your tuition and fees

The tuition for DHE 100 and BIO 200 each is $428 plus a distance delivery fee of $60, for a total of $488.  To avoid late fees, tuition must be received no later than Friday at 5:00 PM Pacific Time of the second week of class. Payments should be sent directly to the Cashier's Office at 3201 Campus Drive, Klamath Falls OR 97601-8801. Please make your check payable to Oregon Institute of Technology, and be sure to include your student ID sent to you with your registration confirmation on your check. For information on payment by credit card, please go to www.oit.edu/cashiers.

Once you are registered in DHE 100, you are fully responsible for the tuition and fees. If you need to cancel your registration, please fax a signed request to Distance Ed at (541) 885-1139 or send an email to de@oit.edu.  Oregon Tech does not automatically drop students from a class for any reason.

To receive a 100% refund, you must drop your courses before the fifth calendar day of the term (Friday) at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. If you drop your courses after this time, you will receive a partial refund according to the Oregon Tech refund schedule. For additional information, please see the Financial Matters menu item under the Distance Ed web site.

Coordinate your financial aid
