Student Emergency Loans

Under the emergency loan program, a maximum of $500 may be borrowed during the term with a service charge of $15. Students can take out a maximum of one emergency loan per term, and a maximum of two emergency loans per academic year.

To qualify for an emergency loan, the applicant must be a current student (taking six or more credit hours in the current term) with a student account in good standing at the time of the request. Emergency loans are only provided for documented needs (including unexpected medical expenses, shortfall for housing expenses, unexpected childcare expenses, or unexpected transportation expenses). Students may be contacted for additional information or supporting documentation as it relates to their application. A government issued photo ID (such as a driver's license or passport) is required.

All emergency loans are payable on or before the last day of the term, otherwise the loan will be placed in default. A defaulted emergency loan will automatically disqualify the student from receiving any future emergency loan assistance, and will be assessed a $99 late payment fee. Loans for amounts in excess of $100 will not be available for pickup until the following business day.

Emergency loans are only available during academic terms, and cannot be processed between terms. Applications for emergency loans can be accepted beginning the 2nd week of the term, and must be submitted no later than the Friday before the final week of the term in order to be processed.

Extern Emergency Loans

Extern emergency loans are only available to students who are enrolled in a medical imaging technology major, and are being sent on externship the following term. Extern students can borrow a maximum of $2,000 with a service charge of $15.

To qualify for an extern emergency loan, the applicant must be a current student (taking six or more credit hours in the current term) participating in a medical imaging technology extern program. Extern emergency loans are only provided for documented needs (including housing and transportation expenses at the extern site).

All extern emergency loans are payable by the first Friday of the following term, otherwise the loan will be placed in default. A defaulted extern emergency loan will automatically disqualify the student from receiving any future emergency loan assistance, and will be assessed a $99 late payment fee. Loans for amounts in excess of $100 will not be available for pickup until the following business day.

Extern emergency loans are available the term prior to the externship term, and applications must be submitted by dead week in order to be considered.
