Give to Oregon TechGive
I sincerely appreciate all that donate to Oregon Tech. It means the world to have a stranger believe in my success and future. It pushes me to try harder every day.

Why did you choose Oregon Tech?

When I came to visit Oregon Tech I fell in love with the small town feel and the proximity to numerous outdoor activities. I really liked how sustainably oriented the school was and how strong the engineering program was. The fact that it was in a division that I had the ability to compete in for soccer was also a deciding factor for me.

What do you like best about your major?

I like that mechanical engineering is about sitting down and figuring out problems while also getting your hands dirty to find a solution. I really appreciate the creative capacity that this major allows as well. Twenty people can look at the same problem and find twenty different solutions.

What is your favorite memory from Oregon Tech?

It is hard to pick one specific memory, but I have loved all the quality time spent with my teammates. From team lunches and hikes to bus rides all the way to Montana, I have gained a new family in this community. I will miss all the crazy hotel room bonding the most.

What career do you hope to have after you graduate from Oregon Tech?

After I graduate I hope to branch into the renewable energy field and possibly focus on hydroelectric power. I truly believe that renewable fuel sources are going to save us in the future and I want to be part of this world-changing movement.

What clubs or activities are you involved with?

I have been a member of the soccer team for the last three years, and I am a member of the Engineering Honor Society and the Oregon Tech Barbell Club (Olympic weightlifting). I have also been accepted into the MECOP program which will allow me two internships over the next two years.

What would you say to the donor or donors who support Oregon Tech. What does their support mean to you?

I sincerely appreciate all that donate to Oregon Tech. It means the world to have a stranger believe in my success and future. It pushes me to try harder every day.

How do you want to impact the lives of other people in the future?

I want to make a positive difference in this world with the power of engineering. I would like to create more efficient processes or designs that change the power generation industry. A healthier Earth means a healthier population.
