Oregon Institute of Technology is recruiting an Information Technology Consultant to function in the capacity of a Business Systems Administrator. This position will act as a liaison between all business units, technology teams and support teams to enhance delivery of IT services. This position critically evaluates business processes and needs to create or improve process flow of functional units within an enterprise system. The incumbent also works as a project manager to establish goals, metrics and tasks necessary to further enterprise system applications projects. This position also functions as an information security auditor to disseminate information and procedures and ensure their adherence to policies and other governing documents.
This position provides consultative support to students, staff, and faculty to enhance the use and access of technology and information systems.
Minimum Qualifications
The incumbent is required to have an AA/AS degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field of study and at least one year of related work experience. The incumbent must also demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills in working with users to interpret needs and provide appropriate data solutions and technical support, be proficient in using standard software packages, have the ability to integrate multiple applications and/or systems, a working knowledge and demonstrated ability to develop and deliver technical training and user documentation, a working knowledge of various programming language and implementations.
Strong administrative and organizational skills are required and the ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills are necessary. Employee must have a high level of motivation and the ability to work under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field of study. Experience with Banner, query software, data warehouse, programming languages such as SQL and C++ and information technology work in a higher education environment.
