Wilsonville Campus - Assistant/Associate Professor of Information Technology

The Oregon Institute of Technology Management Department is seeking candidates for a full-time, 12-month, tenure track position as Assistant or Associate Professor of Information Technology at the Wilsonville Campus.  The total compensation for this position will be competitive. The position includes an excellent benefits package including comprehensive healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon University System schools. The starting salary range is $68,500 – $75,300 for Assistant Professor and $76,600 – $84,700 for Associate Professor both with a cost of living adjustment. Start date will be September 16, 2013.

The Oregon Tech Department of Management prepares students for management and leadership careers in contemporary organizations. Faculty members have been selected for their experiences and expertise in a diverse array of production and services industries. Coursework builds upon a fundamental core along with program specific courses culminating in a yearlong senior capstone course.

Oregon Tech is the only accredited public polytechnic university in the Pacific Northwest region. The urban campus is located in Wilsonville Oregon, just south of Portland. Oregon Tech focuses on undergraduate education, but also offers opportunities for applied research.

Responsibilities:

Faculty will be expected to teach courses both in-class and online in our BS programs in Information Technology.  The three IT options that are delivered at Oregon Tech Wilsonville are Health Informatics, Application Development and Systems Analysis. The successful candidate may teach selected information technology courses in subject areas such as: systems analysis, database design, management and data mining, business intelligence and analytics, networking, health informatics, and health care systems and policies. Duties will include standard course teaching load, student advising, project mentoring and support for departmental, institutional, professional, and community service activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include: an MBA, MA or MS degree in Information Technology, or a closely related field; evidence of relevant professional and teaching experience in the areas of database management and data analytics, system analysis and networking; a minimum of five years corporate, industrial and/or consulting experience in related fields; a minimum of two years teaching experience, in-class and online, with evidence of excellence in teaching and scholarly activity. Candidate must have strong desire for continued professional development in one or more associated fields and a strong bias for action.

Preferred Qualifications

A doctorate degree in Information Technology or a closely related field; documented excellence in teaching; a commitment to scholarly growth; and a desire to work in partnership with other faculty to accomplish our mission.
