The Oregon Institute of Technology Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) Department seeks a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise and teaching experience in Clinical Laboratory Science as well as organic chemistry. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. The total compensation for this position will be competitive. The department’s primary mission is to educate, train, and graduate professionally competent and ethical individuals, committed to life-long learning, and who are prepared to meet current and future workplace challenges in medical laboratory science. This position involves teaching in the clinical laboratory science program as well teaching undergraduate organic chemistry.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a master’s degree, national certification as a MLS generalist, and a minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience as an MLS in an accredited medical laboratory. Demonstrated teaching excellence in courses covering all the major areas currently offered in the contemporary Clinical Laboratory as well as an ability to teach undergraduate-level scientific content in organic chemistry. The successful candidate also participates in establishing and supervising clinical externship experiences, evaluating student achievement, curriculum development and assessing curriculum effectiveness. In addition to teaching responsibilities faculty in the OIT CLS program actively engage in University service and scholarly activity.
