Oregon Institute of Technology seeks a Co-Generation Engineer. This is a full time, 12 month position with benefits. This position is located in the Facilities Services Department.

The purpose of this position is to provide maintenance services in the areas of plumbing and other building and campus operations. This position is one of a team of maintenance workers engaged in maintenance and operation of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems and finishes on the campus. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the servicing of building heating and ventilating systems, building piping systems, campus potable water and geothermal distribution and production systems. This position functions as the certified Small Groundwater System Operator. The Co-Generation Engineer is also the contact person with the city of Klamath Falls for wastewater, performs OWRD data collection and reporting, is tasked with cross connection backflow assembly testing and is the contact person for pressure vessel permitting. This position provides monitoring, maintenance and repair to 280KW and 1.75 MW geothermal power generation plants. Position is proficient in DDC control systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completed Boiler and Turbine Operator apprenticeship or equivalent combination of education and experience to include knowledge of turbine generators, chillers, high pressure boilers and related technical systems involving electrical, steam and refrigeration
  • Proficiency in DDC control systems
  • Valid Oregon’s driver’s license

  • AWS pipe welding certification or steam fitters certification, journeyman’s plumbing license
  • Experience working with geothermal and domestic water wells, storage tanks and related equipment
  • Experience working with domestic water filtration systems.
