Assistant Professor, Management


Oregon Institute of Technology Management Department is seeking candidates for a 9-month tenure-track position in Management for its Wilsonville Campus. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The starting salary for the positions will be competitive with our comparator institutions and includes an excellent benefits package with comprehensive healthcare; a generous retirement; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon University System schools.

The Oregon Tech Management programs prepare students for a future in management, management information systems, and leadership careers in contemporary organizations. Students graduate ready for work and with a solid foundation to build upon in seeking professional licensure or continuing on with graduate studies.  Coursework builds upon a fundamental core along with program specific courses culminating in a yearlong senior capstone course.

Applicants should have expertise and experience in most aspects of management including areas of management principles, human resource management, leadership, data supported decision-making, organizational behavior, and project management.  Additional skills, experience and/or certifications in the area of Operations Management would be a plus.

Primary responsibilities include developing courses and teaching lecture and laboratory classes both in class and online. Other responsibilities include undergraduate student advising, project mentoring, and support for departmental, institutional, professional, and community service activities.

Minimum Qualifications

MBA, or MA/MS in a closely related field (DBA or Ph.D. preferred); evidence of relevant professional and teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include 3 or more years corporate experience, industrial and/or consulting experience; prior teaching experience with evidence of excellence in teaching and scholarly activity.  Applicants are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching, a strong desire for continued professional development, and a self-starter.
