The Electrical Engineering & Renewable Energy (EERE) Department at the Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech) in Klamath Falls invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor position, starting September 2014. We are seeking a motivated colleague with the enthusiasm and ability to help us drive our degree programs forward. Applicants must have a strong commitment to high-quality undergraduate instruction. Primary academic responsibilities will include developing and teaching courses in power engineering, as well as instrumentation and control, with emphasis on smart-grid topics such as distributed power systems control, power monitoring, load control and switching, control systems, power electronics, and power conversion. Other responsibilities include advising students, directing student projects, and participate in continuous professional development, as well as other service activities. Candidate will be expected to teach both lecture and laboratory courses.
A Ph.D. in electrical engineering or a related discipline, or a master’s degree in electrical engineering with at least three years of relevant industry experience are required. Applicants with Professional Engineering licensure and/or relevant academic or industry experience are preferred. Demonstrated track record or evidence of potential as an effective engineering instructor is desirable, and candidate will be required to deliver a sample lecture as part of the interview process.
