The Department of Natural Sciences at the Oregon Institute of Technology (Oregon Tech) is accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track, 9-month faculty position in chemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor. Start date will be September 2014. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Oregon Tech's faculty salaries are competitive with our comparator institutions.
This position will focus on instruction of elementary and general chemistry courses that directly support B.S. programs, primarily in the health professions (nursing, dental hygiene, respiratory care, and medical imaging). Additional courses will depend on the candidate's background.
Ideal candidates would have a master's or doctoral degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or molecular biology with background in biomedical applications of chemistry. A strong candidate will contribute to and complement existing strengths in the B.S. Biology-Health Sciences program, and have an established record of teaching effectiveness in lower division undergraduate courses. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to undergraduate students.
