Athletic Trainer

Oregon Tech is seeking applicants for an Athletic Training position. This is a 10-month, full-time position located in the Klamath Falls, Oregon campus. The purpose of the Athletic Trainer position is to enhance all athletic program success by working with athletes and collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. In addition, the Athletic Training processes insurance claims for athletes that participate in intercollegiate sports at Oregon Tech.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing bracing, splinting and taping as necessary for athletes prior to and following practice or competition to minimize athlete injury, providing rehabilitation services for preventative care (Ultrasound, ESTEM, etc.) to athletes and students as needed or requested by physician, or a certified athletic trainer of another institution, and assisting with facility set up and management as needed for the safe operation of athletic events.  Additional, the Athletic trainer will assist with obtaining documentation required for athlete participation, insurance processing, or physician clearance as needed, and assist the Associate Director and other athletic trainers in any other function necessary for the operation of the sports medicine facility and program.

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine or related field
  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
  • Registration with Oregon State Health Licensing Office
  • Current Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Master’s Degree
  • Collegiate level experience preferred 
  • Three (3) years’ experience as a certified athletic trainer preferred
